Last of the Mangos this Season

For you mango lovers, here's a pic I took today of some very late season mangos that a friend gave us. Normally, the season is over in October, but this year some varieties extended the season. I'm not sure what type these are, but they are the size of softballs and awesome!

Timm nice lanterns and a worthy cause. I just visited the WAC web site and I was inspired to buy 10 raffle tickets for the 2022 Lynx Boondocker 850 snow machine. I was involved in avalanche training and rescue years ago courtesy of the USMC. If I win the machine, I don't know what I'll do.

I assembled it, oiled it up, and heated the boiler with Sterno, as that's what I had on hand. I ended up using a full fuel tray of Sterno which gave it around 5 minutes of run time at low throttle. The Sterno leaves no residue and doesn't smell bad. A very well made little model, easy to put togethe...

Those are unusual little stoves and fun to play with. I've got the shiny one, and have the butane adapter as you do. You can also refill the original empty Coleman fuel canisters (not too hard to find) with butane using some plastic tubing/transfer adapter. Some here have had success doing that, but...

I'm building a Jensen model steam engine and want to use Sterno instead of the Esbit tabs for the boiler heating source. Send some rain way out here! The cattle pasture behind our home that burned late summer is still bone dry. The rancher has moved most of the cows to greener pastures and the few still here are being fed fodder. Hoping the Aleutian generated winter rains are coming soon.
