Finally got this one finished and off the bench. Very lucky that there were no stress cracks in the fount and it holds excellent pressure. Custom reproduction bail (and one vent clip) by Bruce Kuda, repro globe by Craig Seabrook (via Cigar Mike...thanks Mike!) and finished off with a repro generator...

It's been quite a while since I've seen a 3927 posted on the forum. Is that by any chance stamped US on the bottom? Yeah, it's one of those...US stamped bottom, so supposedly made for military use. I believe a bit of extra candle power, too. I had one of these years ago, and they're strong burners....

I think Russ may have solved this. This is obviously a prototype paint finish, used by Sears, to develop the highly sought-after mushroom lantern. Early production...only one known to exist...very rare. :D

This was already broken when found...it was on a REALLY rusty Nulite. Looked like it had been broken many, many years ago and only these two pieces were in there. Like I said, just couldn't bring myself to throw it out, at least not right away. Maybe I'll put some duct tape on it...LOL!

I would agree with the above about the 502 being more designed to simmer. However, that said, I've had really good luck with the 530 using the diffuser plate and adjusting the flame down a bit with the tip cleaner lever. YMMV.
