This also was, of all things, my parent's wedding anniversary..would've been 64 years today. Nothing infamous about it, they had true, old-fashioned love; I never doubted once that they'd ever split up.

Especially based on what JimL wrote and the link he included, I'll pass on that stuff. Mother's polish and elbow grease work fine for me.
It's one thing to use such a product as the aluminum dip, but disposal is something else to think about. I don't like to have stuff requiring special disposal.

By the way, you mentioned it was kerosene, but it's actually a gasoline lantern, so you can use CF (Coleman fuel) in it, or Crown, if that's cheaper or more easily obtained in your area.
