I need a new bookcase; the one I made some years ago has books piled atop it, and somewhat precariously.
The internet is quite handy, an unbelievable amount of information at our fingertips, but there will always be plenty to be gleaned from books.

It's always nice when reasonable temps prevail, Brian. Here in south central PA, it cooled down right on the first day of Fall, and has stayed cool ever since. Actually rather weird, as our Fall temps go up and down into October, but we haven't seen even 80 deg. for a couple weeks now. The "experts"...

John, good to know that's all that happened to you. I once found the blade on my table saw with the tip of a finger, but fortunately I was able to doctor it up myself, with antiseptic and bandages.

As for your heater, I'm afraid I can't offer help, but best of luck with it. Just keep in mind you won't be able to see it glowing unless it's almost dark.

I'd at least put something over the pump; I have a couple of plastic pill bottles for when I use a lantern in rain or when it's snowing.

I was also unfamiliar with "rec 90." Not far from where I am, there's a gas station that has hi-test, ethanol-free, so I also use that in small equipment and engines...but NEVER in my lawn mower (because the only fuel it burns is in me :lol: )

I agree, Dominic; no doubt there's been many types of lube put in pump bores, and yes, a number of them do gum up over time.

I'm sure most of us have common lanterns for loaners or uses which might be risky for nicer items.
Been using 288s for lighting the lane in to my place when I shovel snow; it's all in the woods, with clumps of snow falling from branches now and then.
