It's funny I've noticed over the last about 10 to 15 years being out camping everybody will always come up and go "what kind of lantern is that" or "I remember those from when I was a kid"

228s are also great for hanging over a stove while you're cooking to throw light directly down on it. that's what I use mine for when cooking outdoors or camping.

I have not tried this stuff never even thought of it until I read this post but this is pretty nasty stuff and it will remove silicone-based gaskets. It may work on rubber can be had at any Ford dealer anywhere. Part # ZC-30

I'm guessing here but I think they stripped out the oil drain plug hole. you don't normally have to lift the body's on these things the 7.3l come out pretty easy. but the engine hoist I have to use I don't trust it with 1,200 lb sitting above my head. It's called self-preservation.

My mom when she was younger would go blackberry picking somewhere on Highway 50 on the west slope of the Sierras between Placerville and Camino. she would fill 2 five gallon buckets with blackberries and then make them into jam.

Every truck I've ever had up to and including my Ranger and my F350 that I have now whenever they go off road always have two spares with me for just in case and there's been a couple of times where I've had to use both.

I do my fire extinguishers the same time I do my smoke detectors in the fall and always a good idea to inspect the rubber on a vehicle whether it's inside or outside monthly.

Got mine

Placed an order with Cigar Mike for some leather pump cups and some more fuel cap gaskets and a burner cap. I got a year 11 patch in with it along with some extra gaskets. As always Mike thank you for the great service.

I wasn't around at all when Bob Hitchcock owned it. I was involved in an education/teaching course paid for by thr government. It kept me overseas quite a bit. Thats why i couldn't remember Bob's name.

He originally started the Old Town Coleman Center bulletin board service which was later sold to another guy which sold it to Cigar Mike that's how the forum has been ever since.
