Traveling lanterns are cool. The key is they need to keep traveling!

I was fortunate enough to be a Scout growing up. It’s been good to watch two nephews become Eagle. They both participated in multiple high adventures. Now I get to watch my niece involved. The tube is 3 1/4" long, with diameter 3/16". It is not straight; it has a rise of maybe 1/2". And both nuts are not the same. What diameter is the tube? How long is it? What’s at the other end?
I have some unknown pieces in a pile someplace that look similar. Straight tubes with two different fittings at the ends.

Its near impossible to bulge it with its built-in hand pump....unless they're budding Supermen. Of course it can done by force-filling the fount with some fluids using a hydraulic handpump(for jacks) with some attachments to the fount...unlikely, but you'd never know some kids. I’m crazy enough to give fiber wheels and fiber lamp handles a quick soak. Softens paint and organic matter really nice nice.
I hate steel wool so I use white scotchbrite and change it often. It’s not the ultra fine SB that scratches parts it’s the contamination it picks up.

Once you trust the cans you can get more aggressive with 99.9% lye. This was about 16 oz in 2 gallons.
