I've used white scotchbrite on globes for 4 years. I've never had any issues cleaning globes or shades. The key is to keep using a clean portion of it. Even magic erasers at times but you need clean media. What scratches glass when using ultra mild abrasive cleaners is the contamination they pick up...

24 hours in strong lye will clean your valve up. I just went through this last weekend. Loosen the tip cleaner nut and the gen nut. I have been cooking chunks of slab bacon on the grill for years.
Throw some on a nice piece of Italian bread with grilled peppers and ultra sharp provolone cheese.

It aint healthy but it sure tastes good

5 years ago those AM 220 globes were by far the closest modern replacement. The glass was really similar to my original.

I just don't know about removing the broken part or the pump tube/housing. If you still have the stem you can drive it back into the threaded part (easily mind you) and then loosen it off. I've done this a couple times before. They were soft soldered originally and sometimes those joints fail. Toby...

Ya Timm it's seams to be an early fire season this year. This smoke has been over us for a few weeks now.
It does make for a dramatic sunset though.
Hopefully all the residents and firefighters are safe in the areas immediately affected.
