I've used white scotchbrite on globes for 4 years. I've never had any issues cleaning globes or shades. The key is to keep using a clean portion of it. Even magic erasers at times but you need clean media. What scratches glass when using ultra mild abrasive cleaners is the contamination they pick up...

5 years ago those AM 220 globes were by far the closest modern replacement. The glass was really similar to my original.

I just don't know about removing the broken part or the pump tube/housing. If you still have the stem you can drive it back into the threaded part (easily mind you) and then loosen it off. Ya Timm it's seams to be an early fire season this year. This smoke has been over us for a few weeks now.
