+1 on the hairspray, even spray clear lacquer, just sprites it on from a bit of a distance so not to break the mantle. My school teacher wife has this "art fixative" she would spray on the kids art projects, heck it works too!

Ian, the newer solar panels are guaranteed to have 80% or more capacity at 25 years, also these new ones, I think from Germany, are black and have higher density output, about half the footprint on the roof as I had anticipated.

Here I started collecting with center draft lamps, Aladdin, Rayo and others. One thing on the rayo is if it is set too low, it smells. The flame needs to be about 1/4 inch above that ring on the flame spreader. This will usually fix the problem you describe.
