Here I started collecting with center draft lamps, Aladdin, Rayo and others. One thing on the rayo is if it is set too low, it smells. The flame needs to be about 1/4 inch above that ring on the flame spreader. This will usually fix the problem you describe.

Dang, as it continues to run it is yellowing, not an unpleasant color, but if it continues to get darker it will be a bust. Again back to sand blasting.

One light coat, if it does ok hot, will do a second coat! And test again. Looks like on coat will do.
