Yeah, same here Marty. About once a year, or every two years they get bad here. Traps inside the house, poison outside. Its all that works. Mostly its my neighbors apple tree, and other neighbors fig trees that bring em in. Once those fruits are gone, they move indoors. Ughhh. RATS!

Air/fuel imbalance. Basically you velocity of the air fuel mixture must be a certain speed. If it slows down, then the flame follows the fuel back into the burner and combusts inside the manifold or the burner causing the red glow. Not supposed to work this way and it can explode or pop causing quit...

It seemed like when I was in my 20s (decades ago) that anytime glass came within about a 15 foot radius of me, that glass was in peril. Same with ceramics. Everywhere I went I broke glassware. I told myself after losing a few nice pieces and some sentimental ceramics that I should never get attached...

+1 on the copper pipe cleaning brush. Just a few bucks at home depot or a harbor freight. Probably a few more bucks from a local hardware store.

Ive lost a mica chimney to evaporust. Went to pull the frame up and 80% of the metal was gone and left with a pile of old mica panels.

Correct on Sunrise ambers. Both 220 and 200 sized. I have a 220 and it is a very light and pale yellow, nowhere close to amber color of later years.

Its a blotchy paint. In person they look like someone skip trowelled over the fount then painted it gold. San Diego (I think) and Lindemann also did a similar paint job.

Wow man. I think you got the first 90% down pat. Rolling should develop after a few tries. I agree with you on layout and assembly first, then roll. Thinner stainless may roll easier. What thickness you using Toby? A few thous will make a big difference.

Very touchy about being taken apart. Be real careful with the cage or you’ll have six seperate parts (4 uprights plus top and bottom). Ask me how I know. The valves can also be tricky so only disassemble if you have to, and ask for help.
