Re: Anyone ever seen a Prest-O-Lite stove?

I can definitely see why the white gas stoves won the popularity race. Very interesting ad John, another item to keep an eye out for. I bet someone here comes up with one! I really like the old ads, especially where he is reading and she is happily cooking away. Not quite my situation.

Love the space age look of designs in that era. It would go well with a Turner/Benz rocket ship lantern. That one must have hard to source to say the least.

As always, the room is looking great. I aspire to uncluttered mine like yours. I’m not even close. The radio fits perfectly. For some reason the first photo floats though.

Thanks Jim, I have one somewhere myself and thought why did they put this out when I saw it. I’m sure to attempt to minimize issues. Just my opinion so take it for what it is worth. I think you need to consider these things with the era of their development and use. I believe the Q99 is an excellent generator given a clean fuel source and a spotless lantern fount. I’ve never opened a dirty can of new Coleman fuel but if you think...

First find of 2022 - a good one to say the least.

Came across a couple liquidating an estate and other than a couple of propane lanterns, they had this. I couldn’t believe my eyes. At first I thought 243A but on closer look it turned out to be a February, 1936 243! As they only made them in 1936, this one must be really early. A few condition issue...

Got a closer look at the 427 with ICCC book in hand. Fount indicates 1937 and the frame and fiber wheel much earlier. No sign of recent fiddling so I’m guess a 1937 fount with earlier parts. Who knows.
