I have wondered if these vents were just added into the assembly line after USFS orders were filled . Or perhaps the lanterns transitioned from being embossed and individual forestry services were made responsable for their own crew marks . We know that Coleman never wasted anything .

I did one in red felt ,it was a real pain in the butt however it came out great ! I had to trim as I worked it in . Felt has very good forming carrikteristics .

Looks like the cage is painted black ,the coller is not painted . I think its just the lighting in the pic. Looks like a major tune-up don'tforget the cages still had the divit for the roto tip cleaner even with the mil-burnner assembly. This is makeing my brain tire...

cleaning the gen is simple I have the same one and I took the gen orrifice tip off , I found it packed with crud , Cleaned it and now it rores ! Don't be afraid they are not overly complicated I actualy found mine to be pleasant to work on ! IMHO the #4 is the best !...

Steve my wenzel failed the same way but not before the globe slit all the way around . We have been on this topic before and I stick to my opinion If it's not a real sweed or german kero it is junk !

I recently replaced all the o-rings in one The one on the check vlv. wasn't half as bad as I thought it would be . I was very nervious about the whole rebuild but I have tested it over and over and it works perfectly .

If you wana get real creative buy a 3 or 4 inch copper pipe cap and pean a flare on it and drill the apropriate holes that would be cool!!!

I have a couple that do that pump it up real good and continue to hold your thumb over the pump stem hole as you screw the seat in if it give's resistance or trys to push back bingo ! If there was alot of fine rust in the font it will play hell with your check valve and the F/A tube .

Just my 2 cents I have a 1945 and it works perfectly I give it time to bleed air but then you can here the sputter of the fuel and its light up time preheat is a plus on these Ive had great luck with that
