Re: 220F Lantern Fount Paint Color - Green

I prefer Rustoleum gloss protective enamel over Krylon. I think it lays up nicer and is harder when fully cured. Plus, the Krylon hunter green seems to have more of a blue-ish hue when sitting next to my other greens. Try Rustoleum gloss hunter green or gloss dark hunter green. Ultimately, if it’s c...

When I made mine I annealed the brass as mentioned. Then I put a piece of bare stranded copper wire inside to keep it from collapsing while bending. I can’t remember if it was #14 or #12 gauge wire, but as long as it fills most of the interior and isn’t tight you will still be able to pull it out af...

Re: Sticking metering rod

Jake, when you rebuilt the lantern, did you take a toothpick and ream the orifice at the bottom of the F/A tube? How about buffing up the metering rod with steel wool?

It doesn’t take much for old fuel residue or corrosion to restrict fuel flow in that annular space.

Yea, kinda makes it a pain on those. The knob doesn’t come off of the stem.

You have to go in from the opposite end, carefully spreading the ring/clip and removing that first. Then work your way along the shaft and put the ring back on last.
