Well, glad I don't have this problem. Only sold one lantern here, and yes I fetteled n' flipped, but for it's value and my personal lack of desire I'm ok with it. I'm fighting off 2 women that got their eyes on my crummy 242c.

Just remembered in my pre teens orthodontist was Dr. Shark. I refused any treatment .

As a newcomer to finding and fixing or recondioning (I don't call anything to date as literal restorations) I know when I've found something I'll toss my line out and say what I paid in said pictured condition, but it's just to see was I a sucker, did I pay a fair price, or was it actually a bad buy...

Nothing, it appears I may have a herniated disc. Just stinks, I do not like being immobilized and after losing my life savings in 2007 I've pretty much accepted I cannot retire. But even if I could I'd still be active but not as a requirement to pay the bills.

Thank you for all the detailed information. Got it %90 apart and have begun cleanup.
Seen a few videos where ppl seem to have NO problem with getting the top spring to slide out. Maybe I'm being too cautious but I'm not going to try and further.

Fuel cap gasket came in and to my surprise it was so aged all I had to do was dig it out with a #000flat . Took all of 2 minutes. Well she cleaned up pretty good for missing most the fount nickel IMO. Just waiting on a cap gasket now.
I'll check the fuel valve packing integrity once I get the gasket. Other than that I think she's good to run.
