Southwest Indiana Spring Gathering Hosted by the Vintage Lantern Collector’s Club

We are pleased to announce that the VLCC will be hosting the first ever Southwest Indiana Spring Gathering of 2023. Dates for the gathering will be March 23rd-26th. We have enclosed a map of the campground. It will take place at Lynnville Park in Lynnville, Indiana. Reservations can be made by calling 812-922-5144 and speaking with the campground. We’d like everyone to target the green sites on the map. It’s a great area and the sites are big enough for small tents all the way up to 5th wheels. The campground said they permit up to two tents per spot so you can buddy up if you like. Devon W Pym will serve as the personal host and point of contact for the gathering. Please feel free to reach out to him with any questions and concerns. His email is dairborn1@yahoo.com. Membership with the VLCC is Not a requirement, all are welcomed. We look forward to seeing you in March of 2023.

Greetings Everyone,

With about a week left before we start, I just wanted to reach out and see if we could maybe get a head count possibly? I am planning on smoking some Boston Butts next week and bringing them to the gathering along with some home made beenie/weenies that seem to be a hit every time I make them. My plans were to share them with the group Saturday night. If anyone would like to bring anything to share, you are more then welcome, obviously not required. Please reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns and I am lookin forward to seeing everyone next week. Weather conditions are still bouncing around but temp forecast at least aren't too extreme at this point. Certainly won't be hot, but not too cold either. I will update this next week as we get closer to time.

Sweet, looking very wet for Wednesday- Friday, still early in the week but as of now calling for 1 to 2 inches of rain Thursday night into Friday morning. Thunderstorms in the mix too for Thursday and Friday. Saturday still holding for the best day this week. I will have another update on Wednesday. At least very pleasant temperatures!

Update….the weather is not cooperating. I still think Saturday is going to be a good day but windy. With that in mind, I have contacted the campground and secured the pavilion Thrursday night through Sunday morning for us to use. They call it the shelter house. There are picnic tables and everyone is welcome to bring their displays and stuff to sell there. This will make it easier to stay dryer and mingle more, plus a common place to eat later.
