Short order campout. Was initially word of mouth and now opened up as a few have cancelled.

Contact me via PM for details. This is 20-30 mins out of Placerville.
Small campout on private property.
More people coming out for Fri or Sat day trip that probably camping out.

Bring your buy sell trade materials and a sack lunch if you are day tripping. First beer is on me🍺

Best,
Randy.

Randy, Marty, sorry for bailing after only a couple hours, poor Repo was scared shatless of the big dogs presence. Scolding him, putting him in the tent did no good. Poor guy. Maybe could have tried leaving him in the back of the truck. He acted like dogs you see that are scared of lightning or gun shots. Really disappointed, was looking forward for something to actually do after the fire was so close to home.

Sorry I missed it. Marty shared some pictures with me and it looked like a nice spot and a good time. My jaw dropped at a couple of the rare lanterns!!!!

Hopefully next time works out better for me!

If I get some time on an actual computer keyboard, and not a phone screen I’ll add some more detail. Meanwhile here are a few pics.

Anyone have a piece of bacon?

Amazing little trip. Sorry you couldn’t stay Duane, would have enjoyed catching up with you. I never thought I would see an Arc in person and ended up seeing two! Both lit. Good company and nice meeting some members on here. I tried a couple of fettles and failed but ended up with some new projects. Sorry didn’t take many pictures but learned how to install a hand pump on a water well.

I had a great time meeting Randy, Marty, Joe (and better half), and our host, Ian. Didn't realize I had missed Hiker Duane. Too bad. I am sure that French Mastiff (Dogue De Bordeaux) would intimidate almost any other dog.

Got to see my first arc(s) in person and watch Joe light his for the first time. Passed along some old stoves and a bunch of parts lanterns.

Good group and excellent first gathering for me. Thank you for the invite and hospitality.

So here's a picture of my Arc running, even though Randy prefers the warm up.

Awesome. Looks like a great place to camp. Maybe next time. I was camping with my son's scout troop at Brannon Island for our annual Webelos Skills Camp. Took my new CLX along but never got to light it because I was running around too much.

Karl, I got full permission to take as many of the young skinny pines as needed for BSA pioneering poles. Our Troop will be making a run up there to harvest some. Lemme know if you have a need.

I was sitting there looking at all those skinned pines he was thinning out thinking of all the woodcraft projects. They would be good for. Boy Scout pioneering projects are perfect Randy, congratulations.

Awesome. Let me check. I was going to go grab some cedar poles from the scout camp for our troop. Hard part is finding a place to store them.
