WTB: 500 and CQ Fuel Caps

#1

Post by Braden620 »

Picked up this CQ and 500 at a yard sale a few weeks back. As usual the fuel caps are damaged, from the use of pliers. In need of fuel caps for both appliances. I also need the steel pan that the burner assembly attaches to on the 500. I can weld this one, but would be easier to swap one.

I just bought CQ caps from OCP for ~$8. Haven't checked to see if they have the small 3 piece cap but chances are good.

Yeah, Mike had a stock of new nickel caps for the 500 but they've dried up, used one on the bay for a whopping $24 I have several old 500 caps but they are buggered. Maybe I can have them re knurled?

242 sized caps have been expensive for quite a while. Iron caps with a Air stem were a nice solution but sadly they are now expensive too. You may have better luck looking for unknowing sellers. It may take some time! Search daily on the bay.
If you can buy a good condition cap for 24$ all in that's actually not a horrible price in today's market.
I understand that is ridiculous though.
Thank you!
