Need more details.

What year is the 236? The Canadian vent style changed in later years. Early Canadian 236 vents were also seafoam green instead of darker green.

The lantern was made in Canada with a stamp date of 4/47.

If you have no luck and want to use the lantern (like if your vent is missing), you can drill holes in the side of a 220 short vent and it'll go right on. Rusty Tank on here did that for me when I first started, and I ran a 237 like that for a good while.

Good luck with it. I searched a long time and ended up having more luck locally than online. 237s eat vents, and I would bet the 236s are at least a little better.

Is your lantern missing a vent altogether?

I'm pretty certain a 1947 236 could have had either a seafoam green or dark green vent. I have an older rough dark green vent I could spare.

As Volvo said you can use a short 220 with drilled bail holes or just don’t use a bail
