Sunshine Safety Lantern by Coleman ca. 1920-'22

I felt like doing some photography today. I had my SS Lantern here to try to get the gen clean enough to run a while without clogging the tip, so here it is.

Some details:

The nickel-plated brass baffle:

Those are the only markings on the entire lantern, except for the control wheel:

The frame and collar are galvanized steel:

That's a drop of phosphoric acid bubbling away, a good indication of zinc plating.

Hexagonal valve bung and round, knurled fuel cap w/air screw:

Q99-like gen screws onto the valve, instead of into for a Coleman:

And persistently clogs within a few minutes of lighting the lantern. I ran another three fount-fulls of fuel through it with the tip removed today. It ran for about four seconds before clogging. I'm going to try some heat-quench cycles and then the rinse again to see if it can be made to run reliably.
