Lamp ID please

#1

Post by fishinjimmy919 »

Not being a lamp-fella I am clueless. This one coming up on my radar with a couple decent lanterns. What is it? This is the only pic the owner sent me but i think it might be an r-55 genny? Any help with ID and era would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Jim

Can you make out anything on the tag?

129 maybe, but I see no preheat cup. Tough with just that one picture.

Nice lamp, and ready for a globe and shade.

The 129 lamp is the only one I'm aware of with that size fount and that color scheme... Great runners 👍

Yes, 129 lamp, believe the color was called "Indian Bronze" . Small fount Kero lamp. I have only used Coleman fuel in this one. needs to have a priming cup to pre-heat for start up. Mine was missing the priming cup. ordered one from OCP. I also have the mantles tied above the burner caps, seems to help keep some heat off the valve knob, still gets pretty warm after running for awhile . bright lamp and is a good runner. This one has original 355 globe, the shade is NOT a Coleman but works . Looks like OCP has a reproduction globe that would work. I have heard that a Northstar Globe fits, but Have not tried that option. The Book states they were produced from 1934 to 1939. Post some photos when you get it running!
