Prentiss wabers (brown bomber) questions

Afternoon all

These lanterns seem to be pretty on par with Coleman’s but have a few differences. Attached are the first of few questions I have as this process comes long...the pump is straight forward, I think the check valve is stuck and I can’t get it to even move when put together.. also the generators seems comparable to a 200. And where do people find parts..fuel cap gasket etc?

It’s been a while since I pulled one apart but I seem to recall the fuel gasket was cork so I oiled it and it sealed.
For a generator I think you can modify a 220 or 200 generator?
They have a smaller pump cup than a Coleman so I tried a Tilley cup and it works ok.
Tgarner01 has been fighting with one recently.

Kraig your pump is built different than mine. Does your check valve you have pictured come apart? Being a Prentiss I'm assuming it is a pip instead of a standard check ball?

I haven’t been able to get it apart yet, the top moves freely in and out, but there is a small hole on the side where you tighten it where the air has to be be able to move through, on the other side of the cv looks to be a small bb which I also don’t currently have anything small enough to go down and see if it moves or not

My apologies as I no longer pull apart working gpa as I’ve damaged more than one trying to help people out. I will dig through my photos and post what I can find.
With the unobtanium nature of these parts, why are you tearing this completely apart?
The pip may be stuck from sitting unused. Oil it up, reinstall and pump it up.

I had one and generator are compatible with 220/228/275 parts number 220E5891 or T44 generator

Yes, the 220 generator will work in the bomber. Mine has one in it.

Wow, I've never seen a brown bomber with that style pump. That is the later style PW pump that has a threaded NRV in the bottom of a non-removeable pump tube. That NRV can leak if the pip is bad, which it likely is on any 80-year-old lantern. The hex end of the NRV can be unscrewed from the unit, revealing a brass pip holder and a fine spring. Be careful NOT to lose the spring. If you need a replacement pip, PM me your mailing address and I'll send you a few for free, along with instructions how to clean the NRV.
