Funny looking check valve

#1

Post by Tgarner01 »

I was stripping an extra C fount down and putting the parts into inventory when I noticed an odd slot cutout pictured on the left. Go deep enough on that one fella? Then I set it next to some others to compare and found this little shorty on the right... Couldn't remember what it came from... Quicklite? 🤔 Anyway... Sometimes the parts are as much fun as the appliance 😁 have a wonderful Tuesday everybody!

How peculiar Toby. I wonder why

I've only seen the two in the middle on Bs and Cs. The long slot screams BUBBA to me.
It's priceless until someone puts a price on it.

That was my first reaction as well, but after you get past the obvious tapered flat head screw driver marks up top, it's obviously a machined slot... Just not sure why 😁

Bubba messed up the original slot with the screwdriver but still got it out--probably a struggle. So he ran it over the blade of the table saw to make the cut deeper. You can find him at the bar down the street. Just ask for "Lefty".

That there happened when Lottie, the executive secretary walked by on the production floor back in 1946. She was known to make heads turn and ol' Bubba was working the check valve slot makin machine and lost his concentration!

Here's her picture:
