Coleman Wichita made three 214 models from about 1984 to about 2009. The 214, 214A-700, and 214B-700.
The first 214 had the bail attached to a frame type similar to what Toby has shown above. It also had a metal pump cap, but no heat shield.
The early 214A-700 first had the bail attached to the vent, still a metal pump cap and I think a steel burner tube and cap, but no heat shield.
Later models of the 214A-700 had the plastic pump cap, and heat shield.
The 214B-700, had the plastic pump cup, heat shield, and brass burner tube. Later ones had steel burner tube and cap.

That's my take on it, but I don't know the exact dates these changes came about.

Hi . There were many changes with the 214 A 700. Steel and brass burner tube. Aluminum , steel and plastic pump caps. Heat shield and no heat shield. A change in the vent. Pictures are left to right 214 700 and the rest 214A700. One of them has the pre heat cup removed. There were also two different burner galleries on the 214A700.
These are also just my observations on what I have.
