Coleman 519 Radiant Heater Instructions

#1

Post by Ridgerunner »

Recently picked up a 519 Radiant heater. Didn't come with the original instructions. Did try looking on the forum here and didn't locate. Looking for instruction manual. Scanned PDF or similar would be great if possible, or if one is available in the archives here, please point me in the right direction. I can be technically challenged at (most) times. Thanks in advance.

I don't have a manual for you, but have this parts breakdown in the meantime.

Be aware of fuel leaking from the valve knob. There's an o-ring back there that fails and leaks fuel. Fun part is that it stays under pressure even when the valve is off. Just keep an eye on it the first time you pump it up. Replacement o-rings not hard to source, I've got a few if needed.

Thanks sleebus. I'll keep an eye out for that o-ring. I did go through the heater before my initial light up. It fired up properly with no leaks. I should be able to source the fuel resistant o-ring. Do you have a size or dimensions of that? I appreciate the offer and tip.

I have hand written instructions with a 519 I got from Dday about 5 years ago. I’ll get a picture of it next week when I’m next in my office if no one else has a scanned version of the actual instructions.

Here’s what came with the 519 I got from Dday a number of years back.

I’m pretty sure Majorman has at least one in the box. He might have the Coleman instructions.

I have one of those I am scared of it. Give me a 501 stove or a Thermos lantern. After a dozen or so uses I lit it in our mud room, watched it come to life (makes me happy, you know the feeling) then realized there was a growinhg puddle of fuel on the bench and running down onto the floor. That o-ring mentioned above was leaking, and I was a split second away from a horrible situation.
I did fix it, and lit it one time outside, don't think I will ever use it again, certainly not anywhere near anything I value.
