Coleman Quick lite lamp 1919?

#1

Post by allidoisfish »

I found this lamp at a local yard sale. I dont know much about these but it is stamped 1919 on the handle. Can someone provide me more info on a model number and what are my options for restoring this or maybe even doing a Frankenstein restore to it? Give me your ideas and thoughts. Id like to get this up and running!

Looks like a 11/1924. Coleman started dating these from mid to late 1924. Model cq lamp. You will be surprised at how well it will clean up with oven cleaner then a polish with some mothers or equivalent. Looks like it’s all there except the generator and shade.

I’m seeing two style generators for the CQ model on OCP, they have a straight style with pricker and a loop style one. Which is correct?

Both work however they came with the q99 from the factory. The loop style you referred too. I should add that the fiber wheel should have a C on it, which is another way to date it.
