400 stove brown f/a Tube

#1

Post by buck502 »

I have disassembled the stove and I have a question about the brass F A tube. The lower thin tube is loose and I am able to spin it where it enters the upper fitting near the air hole. I assume that is not the way it is supposed to be? It is burning very poorly and loses pressure quickly.I have not yet gotten to the Schrader type valve. Thanks

If just the outer tube is loose it's fine... You don't want the inner tube to wiggle. If I remember correctly the brown 400 has a metering rod correct? If so, make sure you clean it well as do the pickup orfice. New cap gasket I assume?

Thanks Toby, yes new gasket. But I don’t understand what you mean about outer and inner tube. The threaded fitting was very tight and I have not yet fully disassembled it. Maybe I will understand when I get it

There is another tube inside the thin tube you are talking about. You’re fine with the outside one being able to turn.not the cause of your issue.
