Write up needed on early "plugs"
Really confusing for me to make sense to others on differences in the 327 and early fill "plugs for lamps. Maybe Steve R can do a comparison? I did see a post(s) or thread by him from past years on taking apart or rebuilding different plugs, thank you Steve R. I've been trying to show what I had and what parts wouldn't work together but have been confusing the matter. ? I'm sure my old injury hasn't helped. I was showing what a plug for a 327 was like and which I could buy a repro from OCP to use parts for a vintage plug, but the 327 used different thumb screw and the plug itself was smaller in diameter so even the repro would not fit a Air O Lite. Even plugs changed over the early years for lamps, so parts can't be exchanged.
Carry on.

the air stem i think your looking for would look like this , or at least this one would work for you BUT the model A thumb screw is a bit different in that the thumb screw wheel is a fiber wheel not metal , super super super hard to find . you would have to be extremely lucky to fond on those . i believe there is a good picture of the fiber thumb screw in the new book .

Thank you Steve. Who has the plug washer on the right and what is used for the one on the left? I resorted to two orings to replace the one on the left. I also read about a # 8 washer in a old post. Was that the right washer #?

I feel ya on this Duane. Ive had a heck of a time with some of these inserts. Throw the early AGM and Nulites, plus Im sure a slew of others, and there are a good many configurations of caps and screws. Somewhere I have a small box with some parts that had a few that came in a parts purchase. Havent seen em in a year or so though.
I had a really hard time getting an early Nulite storm king going, and ended up buying (or getting donations) until I found the right one. That would be a good study and reference should a lampie or collector of early pieces measured thread pitches and such.

I may part out one of the lamps I got, the one with a bad crack, looks like it got hit years ago and cracked there, not a good candidate for a tank sealant. I would only need one plug then. Still have a number of QL's to check and two early Nulite lamps which hopefully will be all there and cool projects. Finished a AQ today, testing for leaks now.
