When UPS asked me “What’s in the box?” I said it was an “outdoor light” … I did rinse the fount out with water and sun baked it and blew the air compressor in there for a bit. I don’t believe the smell of CF will make it through the bubble wrap etc…

I've shipped two UPS items last week, both asked contents. One was a homestrand stove and I said "Portable stove"; the other was a tent.

I ship guns on a routine basis, I just tell them what it is , some take it in stride, some go get a manager. Had one employee say they cant do that, had to explain what form they needed and show them how to fill it out.

Our UPS store asks what's in the box every time. They seem to have to enter it into the computer form. My answer is almost always "Machine parts". Close enough for 99% of what I ship.

I see what the difference is; I buy and print my own shipping labels and drop off the parcels at UPS. Some must be buying at the UPS Store and maybe that's why they ask.

BTW, Pirate Ship gives at least a 50% discount on UPS Ground!

Probably best to find out the UPS shipping rules to see what they will not ship and compare that to what is being shipped. I assume they have a right to ask what is being shipped to compare that to their rules. If a person replies with an answer that evades their shipping rules, then that burden is on the person that provides the answer. Pretty clear cut.

I think I told them outdoor light fixture when I shipped yours lol - also sealed it in a plastic bag after the tank rinse and dry.
