I see a man with good taste!2twisted wrote: ↑Sat Mar 18, 2023 4:08 pm Good week. I found my biggest bundle and needed a bunch of parts for various projects.
A bunch of cases, 3 275s, 2- 220s and a 53 200a that someone used 2 cans of rustoleum on...that said, it did protect the mint vent.
And a whole bunch of lanterns all missing globes.
Both 220s fired up and ran great.
The 242 is cleaned up and running, the 200 is torn apart and soaking.

Re: 2023 CCF Garage/Yard/Estate sale thread
I took a drive to my old stomping grounds near my mom's old house for a HS Flea that does well. Some prices are stupid high, but I just leave those behind. (2X today)
I didn't see any GPA, and the wickies i saw I wasn't interested in, so more camp related items at least for the most part.
Right off, barely out of the car I found a plastic sewing box full of stuff and a fair amount was older. I wanted the oil can and the green box of attachments (Should fit my Feather Weight 221 Singer) and he said "take the whole box for $7" So I did. These are the keepers, I tossed about 1/4 of the total pile and another half went to the ladies of the house, I kept the wood thread spools and the colors I would use more commonly.
Still camp related, as I use the sewing gear to make/repair camp gear:

3 50's Lyman loading books $5 each ;

$15 bass plugs ;

$10 Dunlap wrenches, Vlchek Pliers; $1 small marine pulley; $1 Oak Leaf Wire forming pliers; $7 Sharp EL-5100 programmable Calculator (Works! -Buying a bit of my past, as mine finally died, so I'll get new batteries for this one - I used to program the calculations for designing printed and etched resistors with it. I don't need it now, but I like having it. ) $4 10X (I think) prism monocular, & 1/8" Proto combo - that one may be my smallest now? I need to check;

$15 Wards Deluxe Quality Anvil/Vise. With 3-1/2" jaws, 5" opening and 17-3/4 lbs, good for light hobby use, and that's what i'll do with it, mounted to 12-16" of 2X6, plus a couple of C-Clamps and good for the Coleman camp trips for a vise.

Re: 2023 CCF Garage/Yard/Estate sale thread
Hit up on estate yesterday. I was really excited when I spotted the 222. Unfortunately, when I open the box, it was only full of random crap. I got it anyway. First time I’ve come across one of these boat clamps. It was cheap, so I got it too. I’ll throw it on the pile of Lantern hangers, tripods, reflectors , and Sparkies. Not pictured are all the beanie babies I had to buy for my seven year old daughter. That’s always part of the deal when she comes along. Small price to pay.

Need details C2C!
What is the wicki?
Is then antler a knife hilt? - Pics
Pics of the scabbarded knife also!
Honing oil is always a good find, (note this is just food grade mineral oil or butcher block oil - all the same.

The lamp is an Aladdin number six that has been electrified and spray painted gold. I bought it for the original Aladdin 301 shade. According from the book, it’s from the same the same mold the Coleman 318. I bought the honing oil because I thought the Buck can was cool. The antler is just a little antler that somebody car of day morel mushroom into. It has the artist signature on it. I bought it just cause I thought it was cool and it was really cheap. The knife is just a little novelty, mini knife. I bought it because it was cheap and says “imperial Providence, Rhode” instead of Japan or China.

Very nice C2C!
I have a similar knife bought for similar reasons: It's markings are "Colonial" and "Prov. R.I. U.S.A." and has "Cub Hunter" on the blade.

Your sheath is much nicer than mine, and mine is marked "Lake Tahoe" for the memento inscription.

Re: 2023 CCF Garage/Yard/Estate sale thread
Here’s my recent finds. I’ve been hitting junk places and sales really hard since my job doesn’t start until May. I’ve not seen a single GPA anywhere but I have projects I haven’t been interested in touching.
I got the rifle second day for $56. Already bought new seals and a Mac 1 piston kit which are on their way. After I got a 140 I’ve been hunting for another to compare it to and to shoot with my sister. This one is a 1400 later variant. Internally it seems to be exactly the same as the 140 but with a different breech/bolt setup.

Wow Pancho!!!! Beautiful!!!! Very nice scores.
My find today. 1927 Colt Police Positive Special, in .38 Special. Definitely an old duty weapon. Very nice gun but finding low pressure ammo is proving a challenge in this state. May have to start reloading.

Re: 2023 CCF Garage/Yard/Estate sale thread
Nice piece Matt! and isn't that a London Police whistle?
Ken, great looking 400!
I snuck out this AM from work for an Estate sale I left a 228F behind. Not a bad one, but not pristine either and I have 3 that are better, one unfired.
Mostly tools, but another canvas Folding Stool , and its got the "Cot" hinge. I'll need to make another top as the top that fits the other two is a tiny bit small. Other than that its either a duffel stand or a foot rest.

Top is sitting cock-eyed:

A nice Eagle Claw Wright & McGill Trail Master 4 pc 6-1/2' pole and Alum tube

The pole is "reversible" so it can be a spin cast pole or a fly pole - the pole end is current;y stuck, but I'll get it broke loose. This is actually my second eagle Claw reversable pole.:

A can of Singer Sewing machine oil = I picked an older one up last sat, but not the 50's graphics I really want yet. Hopefully they come in threes - and the vial is about 1/3 full of Mercury - it appears to be contaminated and likely with lead so it was probably used for leas removal in pistol barrels, which is what I want it for. I'll have to see if there is a safe way to separate the lead out.:

And the tools - Craftsman Hack Saw blade holder and Manifold and St obstruction wrench, Beehive driver, Metal mini BP, Bondhous ball end Allen driver, 2 thread files; Bluepoint & Jaw Brand:

Nice haul outlaw! The mercury was a nice find! I like that stool.
I also have a Royal 10 from 1927 I found at goodwill for cheap. Its sound but the keys are sticky. It needs a good cleaning but has a good look to it. Its a big typewriter though. Ingot it to display but didn’t realize how big it was in the store!

I just have two. The one on the desk is a 1917 (if memory serves) Corona #3 traveling type writer. It is a nice size for display and still works great. I have its travel case and ribbons as well but have them stored under my the desk.

Thanks Matt! Yeah, I like these old school wood/canvas stools, not for sitting on, for more than moment, but for the foot rest/duffel stands, and the base for a small table I used one for a table and one as a foot rest at the last outing.FishNChips wrote: ↑Sat Mar 25, 2023 2:31 pm Nice haul outlaw! I'd like to find a vintage wood framed & canvas chair that folds/transports compactly, but so far that eludes me. Modern umbrella chairs are pretty comfortable and compact. I have two folding Aluminum and canvas chairs, but those are for sitting bolt upright, adn I like to kick back. I have one wood framed and canvas that I class as a beach chair, but its pretty bulky.

Re: 2023 CCF Garage/Yard/Estate sale thread
I found this yesterday from a group of 16 off of craigslist.
Don’t ask me how “much/little” I paid because you might try and find where I live and hit me with a brick…
Yes I did get an included replica mica with it also (im gently cleaning it).
I believe I have a collar for it in the parts box but if I don’t I will be looking for one soon…It supposedly works too but I’m not going to try yet until I carefully take it apart.

You sure are. That's an awesome score for $10.00. what else was in that haul? Even if they were all green double mantles, you still did very well.czechphotoguy wrote: ↑Sun Mar 26, 2023 11:56 pmAwesome! I’m part of the u suck group!!!

This is one…
228B 1942 don’t know month as it wasn’t clean enough to find.

I had to leave half of them at a friends house so I will make a list of what I got when I grab them tomorrow.
Off the top of my head:
321B
288

Don’t ask me how “much/little” I paid because you might try and find where I live and hit me with a brick…
Yes I did get an included replica mica with it also (im gently cleaning it).
I believe I have a collar for it in the parts box but if I don’t I will be looking for one soon…It supposedly works too but I’m not going to try yet until I carefully take

That's the most judicious use of hockey pucks I've ever seen.
Well done
Nice bee
Thank you!

To me a lamp without a shade is creepy!
After awhile, you can work on points for style!

I collaborated with my father and we figured out a way to mount them to a piece of plywood. We then cut the radius of each of the primary sizes of founts out of 3 other pucks.
I use a wood clamp to hold them in place to be able to remove everything down to the fount.
I will take a better photo of it as it works really well.
Total cost about $4.50 for just the plywood.
Pucks are free…
