I reshaped the flare on the generator slightly and made a lead gasket as suggested. No leak at the generator connection. Going to let it cool off and tie on some mantles.

I ordered up a reproduction Mica globe to top this one off. After being lost in the mail for several days it did arrive safely. I'm happy with it.
