The more you dress up the crate, the more likely it will disappear between destinations......
Wayne signing off...
What's the lowest you'll take for this lantern?
Today is a gift, that's why they call it the present.

Levi I was thinking more along the lines of it traveling from collector to collector, avoiding the postal service... Kind of like an old luggage case that people used to put their destinations on... Signatures and stickers on the case with your gifted signed lantern safely stored inside...

Hmm. Starting to thing it would take more like a decade than a year with that plan. Haha. Re: Nationwide Lantern Signing.
The shipping cost would probably be more because of the size of the package and the weight of it. But it would be cool to put a state flag or something cool from a members area on it.

Re: International Lantern Signing.
Build the box. But don't ship it in the box. Every time some one signs the lantern they drop a flag sticker in an envelope and mail it to you. You put the
Sticker on the box then get a map of the US and Canada . Everytime you get a flag sticker you put a pin in the map with the person's name and user name.

The I guess just their name will do. But it's your lantern, your rules. One thing to think about is you only need one state flag. First person to receive it in a state puts in the state flag everyone else in that state puts in either their city flag or some unique local attraction sticker. Maybe include a list that they put what sticker they sent so you don't get duplicates. Timm will send you beer labelsLeviticus_Tomethreus wrote: ↑Wed Feb 17, 2021 12:18 amNow THAT is an idea! Heck, I'll play, too. I am not far from Gavercronos/WillCat and Whitegas Extraordinaire is somewhere around this end of NY State, too so that would get a few of us.
DougA ... fettler and keeper of a family collection of nickel: a 249, a pair of 237s, and a 1938 228B, along with a late 1979 red 200a. Then two more turned up, a 1941 243A and a 1944 242C, and now there's a b-day 200A lantern, too!.

Re: International Lantern Signing.
How about build the box, acquire a nice map, ship absolutely nothing. We sign a state flag decal, or a unique local destination decal, or a coleman lantern decal, or a ........., then we ship that to you. Done deal.Leviticus_Tomethreus wrote: ↑Wed Feb 17, 2021 3:08 amTimm hasn’t signed up.Optimus45 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 17, 2021 2:58 amThe I guess just their name will do. Every time some one signs the lantern they drop a flag sticker in an envelope and mail it to you. You put the
Sticker on the box then get a map of the US and Canada . Everytime you get a flag sticker you put a pin in the map with the person's name and user name.![]()
