October 1936 242 Canada (N.R.F)
Hi
I got this one in January this year. I was hoping for an early 247 but am still happy it.
Is it a 242, 242A as I am not familiar with the 1930’s Canadian lanterns?
Does anyone know what the NRF is ?
I have only seen it on one other lantern, a 1960’s 241G belonging to someone I know.

I would bet NRF is some organization like USFS or WPS. Might slide some pics on down to terry Marsh.
My friends don’t call me “Lantern/lampie Levi” for nothin’,if they did call me that.

I cant even make a guess at what NRF stands for but what a hack job in marking that tank. There lucky they didn't end up punching a hole in it.

October 1936 would make it a 242B, Andrew. It has the same burner as the late 242A.
I have no idea what NRF stands for, so I can't help you there.
Keith.
