Weekend buys

#1

Post by Tgarner01 »

Was only able to hit a couple new flea markets this weekend and only came up with a Coleman iron measuring can and a Wagner #3 skillet that needs seasoned. But I had been talking with a local fellow named Willis about a pair of 242C's he had for sale on Craigslist the past couple weeks and I finally splurged and bought them. I've had dozens of these, but this one in the box is in great shape, and will be my new display C. The other had an amber bulge globe which I had yet to find locally as well... Something to cleanup this week...

Toby. It’s was VERY unlucky. Especially the cheap perfection offer. Oh wait, did I say that out loud?

Nice score toby. 242s are good runners hard to leave then behind especially with that globe.

Good haul there Toby, you sure made out pretty well! That 242 with the box looks like it’s got low mileage on it.

The only thing I found this weekend was pinholes in a fount I was derusting! ☹️ 😆

Here Toby. I’ll include my weekend buys. At the candy shop/antique store yesterday, the guy said I could buy this perfection for $45. No cash of course. I’ll come back sometime.

At the huge antique store I went to today, I found a bunch of goodies. Best things were these original shades. Akron Quilt shade and Coleman 329. I also, got a cl2 is great shape but the range e block is melted.

That’s a nice pair and the goodies with them are fun too. I just sprang for a amber bulge globe from OCP. Haven’t put it to use yet. Kinda planning a frank for it

Thanks Paul...I should really be selling 242s... Not buying.. 🙄 but with nothing to fettle, what's a man to do? 😁

Thanks Rob, will probably get started tomorrow on the dull fount.

Thanks L.J.! I'd say the boxed 242 has only been lit a handful of times to look at it. Bummer on the pinholed fount! I've been there several times myself... If you figure out something to do with pinholed/cracked Founts share with the rest of us... I've got a big ole pile of them.

See Leviticus!... 2 pieces of original glass, in one day, for pennies on the dollar!.... Winner winner!!
