Anyone know anything about this lantern?
Saw it in an antique store, couldn't find any markings on it. Seems to be very well made, price was a bit too much for me.
Sorry for the lack of pics, my account is giving me fits at the moment.

No pics.
My friends don’t call me “Lantern/lampie Levi” for nothin’,if they did call me that.

Re: Anyone know anything about this lantern?
Might be a lantern set up to just emit inferred light and used as a clandestine landing field marker by the military way back.
Re: Anyone know anything about this lantern?
It looks like a lamp to mark port or starboard. Was the lens colored? I can't tell for certain due to the lighting.
Because so many companies make reproductions of these ship's lanterns, I wouldn't touch one unless cheap since I wouldn't know how to confirm or prove its age and wouldn't want to pay a lot for a trinket.

Looks like a ships lantern to me. Could also be military. Who knows. There’s an fb page for lanterns like this.

Certainly looks nautical to me, but I'm not an expert, nor a master of anything.... Well.. I'm pretty good at eating.... Cool lantern

I"m going with ships lamp. What color are the lenses? One red and green or all red or all green. Not a white 360 by the look of it. That would go on a mast.

If the lenses are clear I don't know. There is no mounting bracket on the back, also no shackle on the bottom for hoisting and with clear lenses it doesn't match any nautical light configuration I can remember. Is there any marking on it indicating where it was manufactured?

No markings that I could see. I looked it over pretty thoroughly.

Re: Anyone know anything about this lantern?
I just don't know enough about this type of lantern to know it's a repo. Some very nice repo's have come out of India. I have an anchor lite (all around white) kero burner that was made there, solidly built and with a glass lens. It's a nice lantern and I burn it often but it's not an actual nautical lite.
