Coleman Parts Display Case
Coleman Parts Display Case
Hello my friends...
Below I have posted a pic of a Coleman Parts Display Case....no...no
....no, not a value question.
I’m wondering about the date! It has Coleman decal on top. Not route red in. Has all but one parts jar. Most labeled. Again, the date it was made/used....
Thank you for your opinions, Tom Mag

From Terry Marsh’s site....
“This Coleman parts rack dates to circa 1960. It was used in a former sports shop on the Gulf Coast. Several of the jars still have parts in them. The Coleman logo at the top is silk-screened. This parts rack is in Tim Treutler’s collection“

Re: Coleman Parts Display Case
(Didn't this just get answered on Facebook (the once every 4 months that I wander in there), or was that another one?) The orange wooden cabinet with the red parallelogram logo at the top is in catalogs from 1957-60. These are the last ones before they went to the little metal jobbers.

Same one Stan. Same question, same answer. Good to see the 57 to 60 date.
Funny to see my shelf here.

Went back to FB and noted that this is in fact a different display case, but same style. I can't keep up with the names though, real vs pseudonyms.

Re: Coleman Parts Display Case
I have a nice old green tin Coleman Canada metal parts display but sadly it is devoid of glass jars. I have given up trying to find the original glass jars and have decided to use modern facsimiles to recreate the look as best I can. Can anyone direct me to or provide me with the dimensions of the two sizes of square jars used in these displays? I would also like to find a source for the old labels as well: either reproductions or perhaps just a pdf file from which duplicates could be made. And a stretch goal - would anyone have any ideas on a touch up paint color that approximates the original?
