11/'51?

There must be some of those around here, but I've yet to find one. Just the regular 200s.

A local guy had it in his garage and heard I collected lanterns. He asked me if I was interested and brought it to the local swap meet this morning. I didn't steal it, by any means, but he was quite happy with my offer and it was fair to me too. I am tickled to add it to my collection and won't be firing this one.

Thank you for all of the acknowledgements. Although I only live about 45 miles from Sacramento, I never thought I would find one of these around here. This one sort of found me. To see a lantern almost 70 years old still in its original packing is pretty amazing. Especially a unique one like this. Truly a time capsule. I need to do some research about these.

Anyone here have information on the history of them?

I know squat about these OCDs. So is there anything marked "OCD" on the lantern or is it just on the box? More pics maybe?

Still trying how best to display this lantern? I suppose fully assembled with the paperwork still inside the globe and box behind? Never had an unfired shelf queen before. It sure is purdy though.
