It’s in really nice condition and appears to be all original. According to the Coleman collectors guide book some frames were painted. I don’t think mine was but I haven’t seen one with a painted frame as far as I know. I think mine is the typical treated frame with the blueing just like on pistols and rifles. I appreciate seeing others black bands especially if you have a factory painted one and please leave comments.

You've got a beautiful hard to find lantern, congrats! What is the date on it?
I'm not sure about the frame, I think most were painted black. I wish I had one to show you. :)
Coleman never blued them as far as I know.

Mine is dated 2-53. There is definitely mixed opinions on whether the frames were painted. There doesn’t appear to be any paint on my frame but you can see color variations in the metal if you look closely. Subtle rainbow type colors in some places and you can see the grains in f the raw metal in other places. It’s just dark….

Awesome congrats on your BB! It’s beautiful. Mine is dated 11/52. Seems to be all original that I can tell. With ceramic burner cap.
