Finally bought at lantern a Goodwill,,,lol.

Post by Quick_Cal »

I have never been able to find a Coleman, or any other fuel related item at Goodwill.

Today my Son sent me a pic of this one. For $13 I hightailed in there a got it. Nothing special but still a nice lantern for the money.

You know I haven’t either other than a 425 one time that was missing it’s grate. I’d be willing to bet these items are usually pitched like tube TVs.

That's a pretty sweet deal for the lantern and case. The more modern ones run just fine and have the same familiar friendly hiss as the older ones.

Nice Cal! That’s awesome! A nice Powerhouse and case. I try to stop by our local Goodwill and Salvation Army to check for GPA’s.. nothing yet.

I call that a great score. Congrats. I got a feather 400 stove at Goodwill once, but that's been it for me also.

Only thing I've ever bought at goodwill was a faded pyrex bowl. You did good.

The case is worth more than what you paid...

I buy most any good shape lantern under $20. Which is rare these days!

Nothing special? I'm guessing you haven't lit it yet.

Nice find. Those are good running lanterns. That one must have snuck through because it was in the case. Normally Goodwill will not sell anything that has/had fuel in it. They go to a distribution center and are put up for auction. That is why you do not see lanterns and stoves at a Goodwill. Unless their rules have recently changed.

That seems to be often the case, but apparently it can be up to the discretion of who is running the store. One Goodwill near me would not accept GPA's as you mentioned. That one is now permanently closed, but I don't know the reason.

I asked the manager at another Goodwill store not far away, but in a different town and he said he'll gladly take them in, but that it was rare they were donated.

Actually, they are very nice lanterns. Adjustable feature is very handy. The generators are thick for gasoline usage.

The case alone is worth $25.00
