Aladdin pink veritque

#1

Post by Will »

I came across this beauty and couldn't walk away. I gather it's a pink veritque from 1933-55. Not sure if the shade is original, it's very heavy. All the parts are there and working. The stars align and I got a couple mantles from Syd coming in the mail soon. Not sure if I even need to clean anything up on it.

Very nice lamp. The model B burners are hard to beat and it’s a Chicago one to boot! That shade looks pretty big on there, is it 12 or 14 inch? If so, I’m guessing that spider held a paper shade originally. Easy to to swap the spider out for a 10” one if the lamp is top heavy or run it as is 👍

Beautiful vertique and old chimney too. For you non Aladdin collectors, this vertique design is one of the most desired Aladdin lamps. You did well. This vertique lamp came in pink, white, green, and yellow.

Beautiful lamp. Model B burners are my favorites too.

Shade looks like a 14" from a hanging lamp. It mounts on the rolled over lip. Their mass makes them hard to ship in one piece, so that's an extra score.

Aladdin had beautiful 14" parchment shades that would make the lamp much easier to move about safely.

In all original condition with a nice even patina I wouldn't do more than dust it off, add fuel and mantle, and enjoy.

Chuck~Thanks for the info and picture. I got a new mantle (thanks Syd!) and it lit up beautifully.

I like that pink shade. That really accents the pink base. :D
