Fast-movers came in with full load-outs of pyrethrins. Now it's just a matter of mop-up.

I have used those hanging traps with fly pheromones, usually filled to the brim in a week or two.
The Squirrels are up to something....

If you need a Sun Flame Generator Model 100-107 ( for Sunflame lanterns models 105, 106, 107 and 110) give me a PM, I have close to 80 of those, 15 bucks each.

The following is from the product description of the above fly bait:

"Use in feedlots, swine facilities, loafing sheds, caged layer houses, broiler houses, and milking parlors"

Clearly not approved for use in breweries or brew pubs, except in associated workshops as indicated by italics.

Probably good to inquire with your health inspector prior to use and advice on where you can use what chemicals.

The fly bait I suggested is very effective to use around and in dumpsters, and any areas outside where spilled ingredients from brewing might attract and provide a breeding ground. If you are using hanging fly tapes, sprinkling some of the granules on the tape attracts them even more. Special bait stations are used to prevent cross-contamination in approved areas, but obviously not in food prep or serving areas.

Here is more from the manufacturer:

Use GOLDEN MALRIN® in any commercial bait station secured at
least 4 feet above the ground and inaccessible to food-producing
animals, pets, and children in the following areas: stables, outside
of milking parlors, kennels, fast food establishments, restaurants,
commissaries, bakeries, supermarkets, refuse dumpsters, and
warehouses.

Do not use in edible product areas of food processing
plants, restaurants, or other areas where food is commercially
prepared or processed. Do not use in serving areas while food is
present. Add 1 oz of product to each of 4 bait stations and space
the 4 stations as equally as possible within a 500 sq ft treatment
area. Add product to replace amount consumed before the station
is empty; do not exceed 1 oz of GOLDEN MALRIN® per station at
any time. Reapply on a daily basis to maintain control, when the fly
population is large enough to consume 4 oz of GOLDEN MALRIN®
within a 500 sq ft area in 1 day. However, when fly populations
decrease, consumption of the bait also decreases, so reapply every
2-3 days to maintain adequate fly control. Replace bait station if
physically damaged.

Loafing shed pretty well describes my shop!

I use pyrethrin-based aerosols that are specifically FDA/USDA approved for use in food-service areas for food service areas. Very effective and very expensive! For the shop, I just use what the local stores carry. Some work better than others.

I'm tempted to use a fogger in the shop overnight. I thought I got 'em all last night, only to find the shop full when I got here this AM.

Dumpsters next to one of the school kitchens where I used to work had a terrible fly problem one year. Open the lid and the swarm was apocalyptic. I came up with the idea to bring one of the custodial vacuum cleaners out. NSS SuperPig. I kid you not. Open the lid just a crack on one corner and all of the flys would head for the light. The vacuum was no match for the bugs and a few treatments a day for a few days solved the problem. Custodian didn't really appreciate his vacuum bag getting filled with fly bits and juice. E.

For those closed dumpsters, get a can of aerosol fly spray, switch heads with a WD-40 can, and use the red straw in a crack in the cover...

I can recall one camp trip that to use the FS out houses, we had to spray Off! into the outhouse to "clear the air" a bit and then again down the hole. and this was for wasps/meat bees and in multiple campgrounds, (we were on the road sightseeing...)

Then there was the time we set up cam adn an underground wasp colony that had access holes on either side of the camp (volcanic area - I think there was a cave under camp). I gassed them (gasoline...)
