220b F/A variations

This is the F/A tube that came on what I think is my '34 220B.

Is this is a "transitional" between the early one with the screen cap and the later style?
I assume it to be the type with the cap, except without the cap. Could have been removed by the PO, I suppose. I feel like there have been threads on the transition before, but as usual my search-foo isn't turning up much on the new board.

I also assume that hex piece at the very bottom comes off, but if it doesn't have the screen I don't see much need.
That's some clean nickel! And it came out of the fount that way.

Yep, just missing the screen bit. Here's an FA tube from a 6/'30 228B:

By 11/'34, the FA tube looks more like the latter ones:

but still unscrews:

The inner fuel tube came out after a good cleaning.

Thanks for the responses, but I'm thinking it was more intentionally omitted, vs "missing".

Also it has "AB" stamped on the very end of the fuel inlet. Someone in the last few weeks, either here or on facebook, posted the same asking about it. Can't find it now.
