502 stove

Is there a trick to getting the F/A tube out of a 502 stove? I tried putting the tee in a vice and could not budge it. It looks like there may be so loctite on the threads. I have the stove completely apart except the check valve & the F/A tube.

Jeremy, I tried everything and am not sure what they used to seal the threads.In the end I used a heat gun, like a hair drier, to get the valve area really hot, clamped the font in a vice upside down, then used a strap wrench, thanks Quest, around the bottom of the font and finally broke the valve free. Hope this helps

I ended up using a torch and carefully heating up the thread area. That is all it took. The F/A tube is green. I will soak it and see if that helps.

It is only 20 at my house.... The last piece I need to get out is the check valve. It is leaking.

A big 9 outside here in Indiana

I have a fount vice and a valve tool. With those I can break the red locktite on the threads but I sometimes have to use a cheater on the valve tool. These are a bear.

Global warming or climate change, call it what you will. Here on the west coast of Canada all kinds of temp records are being broken and to have a white Christmas is quite the exception. What the hell do Lab Rats know?
