Hi all.
I think an explanation of all the common abbreviations (NOS, NIB etc. [PITA] and others) would help us non-native speakers very much. Sometime I can imagine what the meaning should be but sometimes it's quite difficult.

I think it was Murff or Lp that said "they had a bad case of 'Coleman Finger' from pumping and lighting alot of lanterns.

Rim Rash ........ The condition of missing paint on the very bottom rim that just about every used lantern gets.

Rim Rash is evident on some NOS / NIB lanterns, too. Result of decades of storage and being moved from shelf to shelf...

This is used to describe the moron who wants way more than a lantern is worth due to seeing the antiques roadshow Coleman segment.

"Gold-Burg"
This would be a 200A series lantern created by combining a vent from a Gold Bond with a fount from a "Burgundy",or vice-versa.Certainly not eye pleasing by any means.Examples shown below.

*Disclaimer:

No,repeat,no lanterns were hurt during this photo shoot.The 'red' lantern is not a Burgundy,but 'common red's' are regularly used as stunt-doubles,for the hard to find Burgundy models.Immediately after this photo was taken,these lanterns were quickly returned to proper assembly,so as not to be shunned by their counterparts.Please do not try this at home...These two are professionals....(but not 202 Professionals...)-Bubba
