Peak1 Silk-Lite 20 mantles

#1

Post by Five02-400 »

Found 3 packs of these babies today at a flea.
Anyone familiar with this variety? I can tell they were made for the 222 so they’re probably small for a 200A or a 242c.

I couldn’t dig up too much info here about this particular variety. Namely whether they were thorium or not. Clearly made in USA. The Campmore tag makes me guess it was 80s but not sure.

But anyway always fun to find some goods. Lmk if anyone has info to share about this kind of

I have some, in package and on lanterns and I'm pretty sure they are thorium being Silk lites- they burn a lot brighter than my newer non-thoriated 20's. IMHO way too small for 242/200's, besides there will be plenty of folks with BP models who will gladly buy them from you don't keep them.

Here is an ad from Fall of 1988 Campmor catalog with the Peak 1 lantern and parts. Mantles were $1.00 a pack which matches the price tag on your pack from WWS....

I don't think I could pass on buying any reasonably priced #20 mantles. I don't have all that many #21 Silkies either, otherwise I would trade. Should have bought out the stock at the local Bass Peo before they stopped selling them.
