Announcing the…

2026 ICCC Southwest Gathering Campout
Beautiful Place, Our ninth year!

Open to ICCC Members, and Coleman Collecting Friends are also welcome.

Place: Luna Lake Campground, Group Site-A in Apache-Sitgreaves NF-FS, Arizona.

Dates: Arriving Thursday, September 10th, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, Friday, & Saturday (Length of Stay: 3 Nights).

Checkout: Sunday, September 13th, 2026 at 12:00 Noon.

Cost: Suggested cost per night is $15 (per adult).

Details: Luna Lake Campground Group Site-A has been reserved for our use and is up in the pines near Luna Lake which is located about 3 miles east of Alpine, just north of U.S. Highway 180 on the eastern side of the Arizona White Mountains. This is an established campground with a Ramada, picnic tables, cooking grills, fire pit and clean restroom facilities. There are camping spots for tents and trailers. It’s a great site for camping, relaxing, a little fishing, and of course Coleman Lanterns and stoves! We will also be having a great BBQ potluck on Friday night.

You can see more information on camp policies, general rules, and accessibility on the Luna Lake website at www.recreation.gov or contact Al Cerino at 480-229-9087 or Mel Taylor at 575-621-7747. Please send me an Email at outbackaz@hotmail.com if you need more information

Note: The Forest Service may close Apache-Sitgreaves and other AZ forests during the year’s wild fire season, only to be reopened soon after sufficient rainfall and to honor the group campsites that have been reserved. We should be fine by September.

Regards, Al Cerino, ICCC #492

Well, it's hard not to steal your spot, since I never know where it is. Last year you just pulled over on the side of the road near the shelter, no shade, no actual "spot", and there you were. You seem to be the ultimate minimalist camper. I'm not even sure you brought a lantern. You slept in the back of your truck (probably on a mover's blanket). I suspect that if you brought any food that needed heating you wrapped it in foil and used an unattended stove in the shelter area, then ate right out of the foil with the spork on your Leatherman tool. Then you were gone like a ghost, leaving nothing behind but some foil and a bunch of beer bottles. Teach me your ways, Sansei!

(Who am I kidding, I've got enough crap to equip a dozen Boy Scout troops, I might as well use some of it.)

What's that collar-less 242-looking thing with the 200A bail next to the Sears lantern? I was going to say that I probably have a collar for it, but looking closer, is it Canadian?

I will be bringing about 10 gallons of fuel to use for the nightly light ups. It was donated for this event, and I will explain at the campout.

Paul,

Those would be custom made stoves. Sears and JC Higgins did not have 502 style stoves. They do look nice!

I did not want to mislead you. Those pics are my entire collection whittled down to single mantles and single burners . Most USA and some Canada. Yes the JCH and Sears 502’s are custom. Most are NFS but some might be more for trade. I’m bringing some camping and odds and ends for trade or sell. I don’t camp much anymore and have a lot of useful items. I’m also bringing green chili for the Friday dinner. With the necessary fixings. I am looking for a gallon fuel can to match the quart can first row second from right. And finally I did find a 521 stove and green fuel can with the spout.

Annie believes that there is a much higher chance of falling meat with that arrangement compared to the smoker, so she approves.

Sounds great, we can also do chicken as well... we'll work out the details. I have a larger disc than the one pictured so it'll handle more food at one time.

Yeah Annie will definitely approve 😆

Is anyone interested in some of this stuff? I can bring it to Luna Lake.

1934-37 653B Fuel Supply Tank and AGM hollow wire parts, possibly enough to make a complete lamp, but I'm not sure. $200 is what I paid for it, and the tank is cleaner than when I got it, so $500.
20250820_073645 copy.jpg
(Just kidding - $200)

EMPTY vintage gunpowder cans, $25 takes them all. I will likely post them on the Classified if no one is interested (I know this isn't really the place, but I don't hang around the reloading forums anymore.)
20260818_090108.jpg
I could also bring any of these coolers if someone is interested:
7/79 Lowboy in very good condition with the crappy latch and crappy dried out original box, $30
5254C 7_79 a sm.JPG
9/75 Three-way cooler with some trays (not the egg tray) and ice tub with leaky spout. This one can sit with door opening either direction, or lay on its back - $40
5257 Cooler 9_75 a copy.JPG
I can send more photos of anything you're interested in.

“a crappy latch”, I’ll take the green lowboy cooler. I don’t need the box.

It has a latch that at best needs adjusting. There is a spring steel catch that doesn't catch very well. It will latch, then pop open later. The lid stays shut though (as long as gravity still works in your area). I've used it for backyard events, and just let the lid sit without latching it, which is what I often do with any other steel-belted cooler.

I’m limited on carry space. So I want to check first anyone’s interest. This is my Coleman stuff for sale or trade. Two 200a’s, 1/63 2/66.
One custom JCH 502 stove 1/64.
One 202 Prof 3/57. Nickel/ Green.
One 1 gallon fuel can w/ $1.59 .
I’m looking for a Sears red/black single mantle.
(Aren’t we all). I also have some ice vents.
For 200, 242, 228. And some red letter 200/242 globes.
I’m also gathering some useful camping gear which I’ll send another post and pictures.
So let me know if any interest. Thanks (2 weeks)
