Here is a decent user 228F dated October 1963. This lantern features the Coleman decal without a border. It also uses an unusual vent found only on early 228F lanterns with the 5 slots in the vent, but instead of the rolled edge found on most 228Fs, it has a crimped edge similar to the E lanterns. This post is for the Coleman Gallery. I believe that October was the second month of the "F" lantern production.
